Safeguarding policy
Safety
Wickedly Wonderful holds an Adventure Activity Licensing Authority (AALA) license so our windsurfing and sailing activities follow strict guidelines and rules. We are frequently given inspections to ensure safety measures are met at all times. The sailing camp enjoys the Chichester Habour while the multi-activity camps go to West Hampnett Lake near Chichester.
The horse riding is outsourced to Hunters Lodge who are registered with West Sussex County Council, giving you the peace of mind that your children are safe while happy and active.
The AALA is a body that ensures you, the consumer, are provided with a system that gives you the legal reassurance you deserve as well as the reassurance that your children are doing activities that are controlled by strict safety guidelines. Please call the AALA on 02920 755 715 if you have any questions.
Most of the activities are done in and around the local area, eg. horse riding and sailing. The boogie boarding, beach games and campfires are on the beach at West Wittering, while golf is at the Chichester golf course, biking is along the Salterns Way, and crabbing is at Dell Quay. The rest of the activities take place within the camp grounds.
Staff
All who work at Wickedly Wonderful are chosen for their fun, enthusiastic characters and for their experience with children. We make an energetic and responsible team. The small groups ensure that the children are constantly entertained with maximum attention.
The staff are monitored closely throughout the week and pass the following checks:
1) Police and criminal records checks (DBS)
2) References
3) Interview
4) Induction
The base camp for Wickedly Wonderful during the summer is near Chichester in West Sussex, on the coast. This is about 95 minutes from London at the end of the A3, near the city of Chichester.
We make the most of the great outdoors, enjoying Chichester Harbour and the beach at the Witterings. We are very "outdoorsy" as we camp in tents with very few luxuries in a field with no electricity. The children thrive on the fresh air and fun activity, as they are outside and busy from the moment they wake up until they go to bed.
